Yukon Solitaire

Yukon Solitaire looks like Klondike, but all fifty-two cards are dealt to the tableau and there is no stock. Its defining rule lets any face-up card carry every card below it—even when those lower cards are not in sequence.

How to Play Yukon Solitaire

  • The tableau has seven columns. The first contains one face-up card; the other columns contain hidden cards followed by five face-up cards.
  • Build tableau columns downward in alternating colors: for example, a red 8 may be placed on a black 9.
  • An empty column accepts only a King, either alone or with every card below it.
  • You may start a move from any face-up card. All cards below the chosen card travel with it; that carried group does not need to be ordered.
  • When a hidden card becomes the top card of a column, it turns face up automatically.
  • Build each foundation upward by suit from Ace through King. Complete all four foundations to win.

Click a face-up card to send its stack to a legal destination automatically, or drag it onto the target column. Double-click an exposed top card to move it to its foundation.

How Yukon Differs from Klondike

Klondike has a stock and normally allows only correctly ordered runs to move together. Yukon has no stock, deals every card immediately, and allows an unordered group to travel as long as the card you picked is face up and can legally land on the destination. This makes exposing hidden cards the central goal.

Yukon Solitaire Strategy

Prioritize moves that reveal a hidden card. Before filling an empty column, make sure moving that King creates access elsewhere; empty columns are scarce. Avoid sending medium or high cards to foundations too early if they are still needed as landing cards in the tableau.
