How to play FreeCell 7 Cells

FreeCell 7 Cells uses 52 face-up cards, 8 tableau columns, and 7 storage cells.

Move every card to the 4 foundations, building each suit upward from Ace to King.

Play the opening in this order

  1. Scan the whole board for Aces, Twos, and the low cards buried deepest.
  2. Use the 7 cells only to uncover a useful card; keep at least one empty when possible.
  3. Build downward in alternating colors: for example, a black 9 may go on a red 10.
  4. Any single card or legal sequence may enter an empty column.
  5. A legal sequence may move together. The limit is (empty cells + 1) × (empty columns + 1).
  6. Release low cards first and complete all 4 foundations from Ace through King.

Tips for a better deal

  • Prefer moves that uncover a low card or create working space over moves that only tidy the top row.
  • Do not fill all 7 cells at once; an open cell increases the sequence length you can move.
  • Before creating an empty column, decide which blocked sequence it will help release.
  • Send low cards to the foundations when safe, but do not bury a card still needed to build the tableau.

How is FreeCell 7 Cells different from classic FreeCell?

The tableau, alternating-color rule, empty-column rule, and four foundations are the same as classic FreeCell. The only rule change is 7 storage cells instead of four, which increases the length of sequences you can rearrange.
